Magnum Recycling is a leading scrap metal recycling company based in Gaborone, with operations in Jwaneng and Francistown. We specialize in providing comprehensive recycling and waste management solutions across Botswana. We are looking for a motivated and skilled Site Supervisor to join our team in Jwaneng.


Position: Site Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:

Team Supervision:

-Oversee and coordinate the work of site employees, subcontractors, and equipment operators.

-Lead by example, fostering a culture of hard work, respect, and accountability.

-Monitor individual and team performance, provide constructive feedback, and recognize achievements.

-Deliver on-the-job training to enhance employee skills in sorting, machinery operation, and safety practices.

Work Planning & Scheduling:

  • Plan and schedule scrap collection from suppliers or drop-off points.
  • Allocate efficient collection routes for vehicles and schedule sorting activities based on scrap type, grade, and quality.
  • Coordinate the cleaning or treatment of contaminated materials and manage regular equipment maintenance.

Compliance & Safety:

  • Ensure adherence to local and national occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Implement safety protocols for heavy machinery operation (e.g., shredders, balers).
  • Provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to all employees and ensure its proper use.
  • Maintain compliance with waste management and recycling regulations to prevent environmental contamination.
  • Keep detailed records of inspections, incidents, and compliance certifications.

Inventory Management:

  • Manage site inventory and coordinate with logistics for timely shipments.
  • Conduct regular equipment and site inspections, addressing maintenance needs promptly.
  • Monitor the sorting, processing, and storage of scrap metals to uphold quality standards.
  • Analyze inventory data to improve operational efficiency and minimize waste.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Educational Background: NCC in Welding & Fabrication or related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
    • Prior experience in a mining environment is an added advantage.
